Does he even like me?

Ok. so theres this guy i like a ton and i was positive he liked me too but he was texing my friend the other day and she told him to ask me out and he's like "ya like i'm gonna do that". We have held hands and hugged before too. WHAT IS GOING ON? i'm confused. Does he even like me??
